White Unit, Clínica del Valle and the best team of Medical Professionals in the course The exclusive White Unit that belongs to Doctors Dahinten and Calabrese, will be present in the Center of the Competitions during the World Championship. It served as Campaign Hospital during the Gulf War and today is in conditions of attending first aids in the course. It has x-ray equipment and a nursery totally equipped to give quick response during the competitions. Together with the White Unit, we will have the cooperation of Doctors Juan Gabriel Seleme on behalf of Clínica del Valle with two ambulances and highly qualified personnel trained for emergencies. Doctor Mariana Fernández will be in charge of a medical team formed by Doctors Jorge Zalazar, Alejandra Segnini, Romina Andrian and Marcos Romero. Crane moves World Championship containers Favian Visser and his team provided their complete range of equpiment to APC to download the containers arriving from Europe and New Zealand. A powerful 25tn crane was used to quickly and safely download the boats. On site, Exequiel Maldonado and Diego Heras, specialists in Industrial Safety from Pan American Energy supervised the maneuvers. The containers were placed near the beach to provide easy and safe access of boats to the court. Crane’s equipment is especially suited for this task since it complies with the highest quality standards and is operated by professionals. Juan Pablo Rossi, boat sculptor Coming from Esquel, this 28-year-old artist is sculpting with a chisel a real work of art that is here to stay... Juan Pablo learned the trade in Italy and has been practicing the legendary art of reproducing classical shapes in stone for 4 years. Using rocks from Cerro Negro – location not far form the city- for the wheels, and a large boulder from Garayalde -150 kilometers north of Comodoro Rivadavia- for the seat, Juan Pablo carves with millimetric precision what in short will likely be the first rock landboat worldwide, in honor of our sport. The question is whether the strong Patagonian winds will be able to move it… the truth is that it is this artist’s great passion for carved rock which drove him to our coast to face this challenge, which will surely be an outstanding landmark both for locals and visitors. Asociación Argentina de Volantes AAV to provide medical coverage for pilots La AAV, represented in our city by our good friend Quique Vera, has contributed his support to the pilots of CMA2008 by supplying medical coverage of high complexity in case of accident at Clínica del Valle of Comodoro Rivadavia and Hospital Regional, as well as transport to specialized centers in Capital Federal if needed. AAV has been operating since 1931 and is recognized by FIA. During the regattas, there will be ambulances permanently stationed together with a team of specialists in the course ready to help if necessary. France is the world leader in our sport and the Federation with the highest number of participants in this competition, including Francois who is the current European champion in the Standard class. The pilots and friends are to return to Comodoro on Friday to begin with the adaptation period with their hearts set on the World Championship to be held starting on February 10 in Rada Tilly. Today Jan 21th in te early morning, 5 containers arrived to Puerto Deseado (300 kms to the South from Rada Tilly). The operation was followed by Logistic companies TRITON International and LOGITEC. Containers arrived are from France (2), Belgium (2) and New Zealand (1). On Wednesday 23th will ready to Customs and next Thursday we will move and download in Rada Tilly, at the parking place of Club de Buceo Neptuno The last container from Germany will arrive to Buenos Aires on Jan 30th and we will expect download in Rada Tilly in Feb 2nd. Mega Concert in Rada Tilly BAJOFONDO TANGOCLUB Worldwide famous band of Tango Fusion Argentina will play in an outdoor concert and free admission at the Hockey Club Field at Rada Tilly’s Yacht Club. For the first time in the history of the town, a musical group of international hierarchy will play their chords in our city, espousing the World Championship of Landyachting, with the enormous support of the Government of the Province of Chubut y local companies. Rada Tilly Yatch Club volunteered their facilities and collaboration The friends of CNRT offered their facilities and collaboration. The Government of Chubut grants 120.000 ARS to APC On January 3, the Government of Chubut, represented by the President of the Economic Joint venture Society CHUBUT DEPORTES, Mr Walter Ñonquepan, and the Minister of Government and Justice Mr Maximo Perez Catán, granted APC the sum of 120.000 ARS to cover part of the costs of the organization of the WC. The main board of APC highlighted the relevance of the act as strong evidence of the support from the Provincial Government to the sporting event. Foxtrot PorpSails Marcel Alvarez, owner of Foxtrot Sails accepted the challenge of building 40 sails with the new PropSail exclusive material - polypropylene canvas - with excellent performance. The APC will deliver the promo yachts with a set of two sails of 5.5 and 4,5 sq mts and Holt Nautos Pulleys. Argentinean Champion Roberto Scavo from Viedma was involved in the testing of the sails and the shaping and profiling of battens was designed by the 2007 European Runner up of the Standard Class, Pablo Reyes. Airtrack Patagonian version APC Promo Yachts The APC is building the landyachts for those friends that due to logistic and transportation hindrances will not participate with their own yachts. Andres Coetsee and Oscar Coria, two pilots with more than 20 years of experience in the beach of Rada Tilly were involved in the design and building of the yachts. The definitive model was finished and tested by Oscar Coria, in the last regatta of the local Championship of APC, and he obtained the second place in the competition, with excellent performance. The yachts are built with first quality materials, with seats designed by Fredy Cohen, mast design and aluminium alloy 6082 from France, Foxtrot Argentinean Sails, and Starco Wheels from Denmark.
